Daryl L. Fletcher has worked with horses for more than 40 years and brings a unique style to Equine Assisted Services. Daryl spent his summers on the farm of his grandparents, where he learned about farming, herding, and other important things about life. He saw how nature and horses can change a young man's life by making him more connected, more confident, and more of a man. Daryl used to be a Youth Pastor, and he always wanted to combine his love of horses with his love of people. As a child, he knew how much a horse could change a child's life. He wanted to build a place where young teens could learn how to deal with their worries, fears, and anger.
Daryl is a part of PATH International. PATH International is the group that supports programs with horses. PATH certifies instructors and accredits centers to make sure that the business has high standards for safety and quality. At SOOFA, we use horses to help people change their lives. Our classes include helping kids and adults get over their fears, gain confidence, and learn to talk to each other better. We really believe that getting to know horses helps us get to know people better. Some of our programs are riding classes, trail rides, and coaching with the help of horses.
Our Equine classes help about 40 people per week, on average. Therapeutic riding is an action that is done with the help of horses to help people with special needs improve their mental, physical, emotional, and social health.
